Looking forward to a Happy Christmas
As the holiday season begins, I want to share with you 2 of my favorite Christmas songs of all times.
Some may or may not agree with my choices as they are not the typical classic style of Christmas songs, but I love both of them for their deep thoughtful meaning.
My personal favorite Christmas song of all times is Happy Christmas by no other then John Lennon.
Many artists have interpreted this song and tried to make it their own, but nothing comes even close to the powerful message that John Lennon emanates from the heart.
This song sends me deep into a retrospective swirl right from the very first words sung “So this is Christmas, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?”
Wow! It each year that just hits me like a ton of bricks every time I first hear it.
It’s like a reality check that gets me thinking about all that I did this past year.
Have I progressed? Did I do something I am proud of? Where am I at on my journey of life?
I know, I know I am taking this far, but that’s what Happy Christmas evokes from me.
Do they know it’s Christmas
The second Christmas song I want to share with you guys is “Do they know it’s Christmas” by Band Aid.
This song was a major first of artists coming together to help a cause.
“Feed the World” was the message. All the proceeds from this song went to feed starving children in Africa.
It was 1984, when Bob Geldof and Midge Ure organized the event-song to raise money for anti-famine efforts in Ethiopia.
The words of both songs are touching and unfortunately still depict today’s society.
War is still plaguing countries and eminent world war 3 threats are still is this air.
Millions of people are still dying of famine all around the world, but mostly in sub-Saharan Africa.
So, this Christmas send some thoughts of peace and love around the world, and if you can donate to a worthy charity, please do.
Merry Christmas and a very VERY happy, loving, healthy and bountifully new year to everyone.
